To New Beginnings

I wonder
If Art
Is so valuable
And the Magic
Of Freedom of Expression
Such a valuable Resource
Could we not
Offer Artists a Stipend
I cannot Alas
Save the World Alone
But it seems to me
That because
We value
Our Artists so Highly
When they die
That it would only be Rational
To Protect them
While they are alive
And what Artist
Wouldn't Wish
For That
If we afforded them
The Dignity
Of a Stipend
The Art World
Would be reaching for the Stars
And plucking them
From the Heavens
