The Woman in the Moon

The Man in the Moon

I've almost finished my Androgynous Butterfly

I had an extreme lapse in confidence and have been unable to pick up a Paint Brush but God Willing I will at least complete two more pieces before I give up entirely.

The Androgynous Butterfly is of a War Hero and War Heroine living the sort of life that they deserve to lead. A life that much closer to Heaven where, may we be not afraid to grow old and weary. It comes to each and every one of us but it is the bed that most of us lie in, in our twilight years.

And here's to them being able to have a "Knees up" whenever they fancy!

Here's to freedom from focusing on love making as Sin!

I say make Love - Not War!

Next Week I will have a Picture of Gordon!!

Is he a little Red train with Blue?

A Picture for Mateo

This cute little boy has two trains - Thomas and Gordon. The big one is Thomas and the little one is Gordon. Well Gordon is a tough little engine but Dad and Grandpa had to spend all day fixing him. Now he can shunt five carriages up hill whilst carrying 5 others - or more is it? Anyway he is a fantastic little engine for little boys to play with!

I was inspired to do this spontaneous drawing of my VW for Mateo

Peter is off getting me Marshmellows and I shall go to bed and read "The Bronze Horseman". Angela, my sister, reckons it is a good read

Anthony Minnichello

I have just been watching Anthony playing fullback when he was playing at his peak apparently!
He is a wonderful League player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Australian Woman's Weekly

I'm still seeing blue and I read all about John Keys in the Australian Woman's Weekly. Good on you John for being a good regular Kiwi guy battling for the Good of Our Country. He was also wearing a Picasso sweatshirt.

These beautiful etchings are done by my Art Teacher Janice Meadows

Gallery

I'm working toward my dream of opening a Gallery from my own home. It is just Pipe-line but I will be charging 10% commission. As an unoffcial Art Collector I will bring to everyone some gems from the Modern World of Art. The brilliant Artists shining in our midst that live on the Breadline - so says Vincent anyway.
I'm Seeing Blue!

I'm seeing Blue

My love to the French for sending the "Statue of Liberty" to the Americans. May we honour it!

If a Picture could say one thousand words this is what I shall try to do!

Bob the Builder

We've got "Bob the Builder" back again. He is a very talented Artist that has to make a crust so his Artistic talents are wasted, in my opinion. When will Art be recognised in this Modern
Age as a Profession deserving acknowledgement so that Artists can flourish?

Anyway - I baked Cup Cakes. I am now unofficially "The Queen of Cup Cakes"

I'm off to see mummy and then to get my hair coloured by my other mummy.

Etching tomorrow.

Holy Days

I've been holidaying at the beach and had a wonderful time. I stopped in on my way through and the lovely Sandra gave me a lei so I felt as if I was trotting around in Paradise. I had no choice but to take it easy and coloured in Greek Mythology and did a very simple of a "Heart and Cross" - the I love Jesus theme. The next one to be done in my Mezzanine Studio will be "Think outside the Square".

I've recovered and it's all stations go and looking forward to my Mid Winter Xmas Pudding Party. Can't wait in fact and the more the merrier!

Sunday the 13th will be a "Funday" for everyone I hope! Sunday should be a day of rest anyway.

I had a wonderful day at the Art Society

I was back on deck today and loved every minute of it at the Art Society. A couple of friends popped in and I hardly had any time to read. Trish and I together got the crossword out in five minutes. Of course it was mostly down to Trish but I did contribute.

Trish liked my "You can leave your hat on" painting so I have given it to her. She said she should pay me a million and I thanked her for the thought!

I stayed on for the meeting and there are some positive moves ahead.

I bought myself a handbag to go with my pixie hat and also a painting of Belladona's because my father loved "Naked Ladies". The painting is done by a marvellous, modest water colour painter called Earl Gower.

It's time for me to go to bed

Wee Willy Winkie is chasing me off to bed!

Roy Orbison

I'm listening to "Stars in Their eyes" and it's great. He was very good! "Pretty Woman". They were all good but the Roy Orbison is the most memorable for me because I loved Roy's music.

Congratulations to Prince William for Achieving a Knighthood

Congratulations, Prince William, on becoming a Knight of the Garter. You looked splendid attired with a white feather. Diana would be extremely proud of her son.

I had an enjoyable round of golf

It was raining pretty heavily in the morning but I collect the ladies and went to Waihi. I took Tiger as our Mascot but it didn't seem to help and I spent a lot of time in the woods. I had a few good shots which made up for a below par game. I put the red Carpet out for the ladies.
I took a photo of the winners with the newly made trophy.
And a photo of a beautiful Camellia.
And a lovely lady called Cherry Kneebone. With her are Ailsa and Dot - also pleasant company.

Action Stations

Well I have the Pool room tidied so that Rob or Bob the Builder can plaster it tomorrow. I've invited him to put Graffiti on the Walls if he so wishes. Thunder birds are us!

I'll be at Golf but I've requested that Peter look after our Tradesman and get him something from the Bakery.

I hope it's not another case of water running down my neck! We'll be taking my mascot - a Tiger

Carpet Court

Since Carpet Court came to the rescue for the "Homesick" people I may well purchase my carpet there when I need it.

The Rose

I just played Noughts and Crosses

It was a clean sweep. I had to put in the crosses to make it look like my significant other had a fighting chance. The first Graffiti!

Relentless

I went to the Pub for a little while. a once in a Blue Moon activity, and had two Brown Cows made with Kahlua. Very nice.

And on the way home I bought a can of Relentless. It's a great energy drink and will have to get some on board for the Graffiti Gallery.

So now I'm having orange tea.

Not quite as flavoursome as lemon tea but hand and free in the kitchen. It will help bear me up for the Winter chills. I hope that you are all recovering from this nasty flu that has gone around. It may only be a matter of time before I get hit but I'm enjoying good health at the moment.

I hope that Garfield will not mind sharing a Garfield Comic

Oh well! I'd saved it in Windows so perhaps you could find your way Via the Internet.

I did do a little Yoga

I did a little Yoga first thing and then danced to an Amy Whitehouse song. "Bunting in the Morning" made me laugh because they were talking about Baking.

And I had a healthy breakfast of grated apple and yoghurt.

I rang a friend and had a good chat and I changed the order of flowers for my sister into something extraordinary I hope because it is her birthday soon.

I did an illustration for Angie's short story. "The mouse that ran up the tree" It is a deciduous tree in bright colours. vibrant blues and yellow and pink and green. Colours that I love to use right here on the Computer. Graham said that I should read about the Fauves -there work is splendid and I should like to see more! I do remember seeing their work at one stage.

The other painting of Tommy

A Photo of a Brilliant Artist

This photo was taken today and I'm sorry it is not my best. It's of Graham, whose heart and soul sings when he paints, and Mr Tommy Marmalade Ralph. Graham is wearing a button hole that I gave him. I was going to put the flower in a miniature bouquet with Cup Cake wrapping which I had cut hearts and diamonds in. But it became a simple Button Hole. The flower is a cyclamen.

I cannot seem to get the photo up but will do as soon as possible.

My Prayer would be

My prayer would be
May the Prophets write upon my Wall.
May there be Peace

Well

I've just thought of the idea of having a Graffitti Gallery. I think it would come up
Trumps and I might start one myself. Go green and gold

I like the idea

Of a collage with miniature cup cakes as flowers. That would be beautiful. Of course an eight year old could do better but aren't you inspired enough that I hold fast to innocence. And when I am lost show me the way with a better World.

That's a lovely word that - miniature. I would guess that it is of French origin. But I may be wrong. Please can I ask the correct answer?

I found

my Childish Marmalade Cat painting. He was quite big when we got him. But I'm glad to report that he is hail and hearty Maude.

In true form to an Ancient Greek Culture

In true form to an Ancient Greek Culture I laid a cup cake at the Cenotaph before going to Church. Some children and their dad were walking up to the Cenotaph and I wondered what they'd think of such a crazy action. They didn't eat it and I wouldn't have minded if they did but one is likely to be a little suspicious and curious about such an action.

I rang my mum and told her that I had been to Church and taken Cup Cakes and served and washed the dishes before going back to the Cenotaph and feeding the birds. I told her that the dead War Heroes would have known that I was thinking of them. She thought it touching and didn't tell me off.

I saw Marty on TV

I saw Marty and his lovely wife and their lovely daughter on TV this morning and his work is amazing. Ten 4 Marty

Little girls Tea Service

Yesterday it was like having an impromptu Xmas party. I opened the Xmas present I meant to give away but now I'm hoping that little girls will come and drink from the Tea Service.

I'm enjoying my cuppa

I'm enjoying my cuppa as it may have been a busy night but I have lots to look forward to. I think I should be the happiest woman on Earth but I have a little healing to do!

I've done my Sunday Baking

I've done my Sunday baking and since I was inspired I delightfully made Ginger crunch as well as Cup Cakes.

Paintings done in the midst of Depression

Two paintings. One called "Love Butterfly" and the other called "You can leave your hat on!"

Christopher Edgecumbe/s painting

This is a painting of Joan of Arc. It is one of my treasured gifts. I look at now every night above my computer screen.

Vision of God's Hair as a young man by using inverted Colours. Fun to imagine.

Vision of God's White Hair

I should also note that the model was Mr Terry Lynch. I can see a rainbow not unlike my son's painting at 5 years of age. His rainbow had just green and yellow. But I still think it is a masterpiece and not just because he is my son. Art could also be one of my sons talents but to be an unrecognised and impoverished Artist is a role too few of us can afford to pursue. I think Artists should be awarded a Stipend as are our Priests and Politicians so that they can express themselves freely and not be stressed by their financial situation. It is a small request for the many, and many more who's work, at the moment, sky rockets in value after their death. Give us a break please!

One painting of my Marmalade Cat

I have an even more childish version of Mr Tommy Marmalade Ralph but here's another.

I thin that of the morning I shall make cup cakes

If I am able I shall make cup cakes to take to Church again.

Marty's Leaf

This is a beautiful example of making the design and the glass work for you. Those who are going to watch Marty will know that this is one of his latest masterpieces.

And the All Blacks won their game!

Could we please protect all our people?

In my spilt milk in the Kitchen

I saw the top of the North island and also the Silver Fern. God bless New Zealand. Guard Pacific's Triple Star from the shafts of strife and War. Our fair Mother Land.

And Barbie Doll and I are the same age.

So there should be a run on them. Little plastic Princess and that children delight in.

Di Tockers "Paper People" are beautiful pieces of glass to celebrate an anniversary.

I'm hoping to get a couple. One a green man and golden woman with beautiful textured glass so that the glass brings forwards secrets and shapes and lights.

A toast to Rocket Man and Candle in the wind

Ode to a melody that we sent off our sweet Marilyn and our sweet Diana. It is also a tune that I love and listen to both versions and love both.

V

I should have also said that the glass carved V for Victory or Virgin upon my hand. T's not quite the "fairy tale" we expected but a fairy tale never the less.

God bless the little children

So suddenly I'm sitting on a gold mine

My Art work is beautiful and I have one that is an Ode to Daffodil. Which is also the name of my car. It is a VW in Lovely German yellow. It is superb and so is my painting. I would like to give it to a generous donator towards Daffodil day.

So let me describe my babies

The little one, the best one is the heart and the cross. It was my virgin piece. A Heart and a Cross. Purple = for God on one side and Amethyst for the Goddess. I look forward to creating many more beautiful guidance of Di Tocker. She is a master crafts woman and also the "Queen of Muffins" as is cakes that is! But a wonderful teacher and an inspiring young woman. I wish I had chosen her direction long ago but it is a relief to at least perceive a better future. I have a lovely psychiatrist, and a lovely psychologist and lovely psychiatric nurses. There was a lot of darkness in the Cannon Ball but if you look hard there is light and Hope. They are both excellent in creation as well as simple and to the point. I rave about them but tomorrow morning Marty Wong is showing his Sculptures on Asia Down Under on channel One. So that is something to watch. He has a lovely new daughter and a lovely wife and a neat old car. He is also a Master Craftsman so need I say more. We should all be watching something special!

I thinking Green, living not so Green and eating Green

Tonight I drank Greenways Grapejuice again and had avocado on toast for tea. I also ate some raw lychees and that was indeed a lovely and simple meal. We had chicken but I'm eating light.

When one is in Love one eats light. It is THE best medine for the heart and the soul. As I am affianced to God I think I know what Love is.

And it applys to psychiatric patients as well. The victim children on our planet that become vitimised adults.

I don't mean to moan but I dare to ask these Questions upon the Bible.

I have promised me mate

That I will do Yoga on Monday and 100 crunches and a walk around the block. I will have to get up early to do the morning Yoga and then I will attempt to put my house in order. Good scheme is it not?

Donna and I plan to be on a beach looking great! in another country.

Now I put my hand on my Dream catcher and my Bible

Now I put my hand on my Dream Catcher and my Bible and I make suggestion, boys and girls, men and women that one of you talented, clever, artistic people could experiment with glass and look at maps and do a glass Sculpture with Te Aroha as "The Mountain of Love" and erect a spire upon it. Perhaps in real life. Perhaps just on the Sculpture. Quotation: "I take my bearings from the Mountain of Love." I'm going to do a childish effort which is a great idea but maybe some of you would like to apply your brilliance to this task please.

Sincerely

Iris

Tomorrow I may wear my Pixie Hat

On it being such an auspicious occasion when my Artist friends and myself birth our babies I think I shall wear my pixie hat. It's a special occasion hat and I can't think of a better time to wear it. It takes courage to wear it. It also takes courage to stand and be different in one hopes and desires. I love the idea of our children being part of the Tree People. The fight to protect our Planet is our single most important goal and may we all speak the same speak. Of survival for one and all.

Sincerely Barbara

I tried to upload my latest Sculpture

It is a Cross made out of the wire that holds the cork of the Greenways bottle on my gene sheet recording my code for Genebase. It is Zepass 13 Mummy and today is Friday the 13th and I am born on the 13th day of the month of July. A special day for many. May tomorrow be a special day for you all.

Tonight I celebrate with "Greenways"

Tonight I celebrate with Greenways Grape Juice because tomorrow my babies are on the way and there is another which has a six week gestation period. That is Violetta Elvin.

I should like to give invitation

To a mid winter Xmas pudding party. It would be interesting to see how many come. Just let me know so that I can cater accordingly.

I cannot find my Marmalade Cat!

I can't find the painting of my Marmalade cat but, in my Treasure Chest I did find a painting done by a friend. It is so marvellous and full of happy faces. Oh to see happy faced children! If a were the Princess of PEACE then that is my simple request. That women and children all over the world be loved - all of them....not just the priviliged few. My prayer would be for Men and Women. Everyone.

The other one was a musical experiment of mine. It truly looks magnificent under camera. It's a melody and a happy moment, when one is in love or has succeeded in achieving. At the moment it is free to one who would dare provide for the MEEK. But it might have to get very expensive!
If I were to pretend that I had died yesturday then this might be the day of the Ressurection. I've wasted my days worrying about how to protect the needy and helpless. Like Diana I also would like to see an end to Land Mines and Warring effort. Our children fight for such Freedom so why not give it to them?

Good luck

Every Day Hero

I have been working on an etching of my partner, "Chepas" or Peter and an "Every Day Hero". He is one who stands by the weak. In my books that makes him a true hero. He is far from perfect - and so am I - but that is THE most saintly characteristic of any human being. So I applaud him.

Gingerbread Cottage

I was the white witch of Gingerbread Cottage and had a goat called Flop. He was actually my son's goat but he was lovely. Flop was always running off and I was always behind him. Same for my son and my dog. I dreamed of having a playground for children where they could feel the thrill and NOT be hurt. I would love to have been able to fatten them with sweets. That they would be active and burn off their delights with the delights of a favourite playground! It is but a dream perhaps but somebody might wish to run with my ideas. So you have this cage. But they find that they can escape. They would be happy and love the slide and the swing and the see saw. There'd be a Maple pole of course and the wind would blow gently to keep them all cool. Hamish loved Parana Park and the Lake playground.

I painted the Chimney of Gingerbread Cottage

Well I may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb

Our father
Which art in Heaven
Forgive us our tresspasses
As we forgive those
That tresspass against us
And lead us not into
Temptation
But deliver us
From evil
Give us our daily bread
(Please may that we be able to buy it)
As it shall be done in Heaven
Shall it be done on Earth
For thine is the Kingdom
The POWER
And the GlORY
For ever and ever

Amen

Computer Art

I think this is probably my best piece of Art so far. I've applied the K.I.S.S principle. Red Cross is such an important emblem and I have added my own vision. Nurses wear the Red Cross. Doctors work with the vulnerable every day and they should not needlessly be burdened by our fears. But in a free and loving society their burden would be unemployment from facing suffering on a day to day basis. Is that not the goal? To know that every child's potential would be reached and that they would walk with their heads held high. For each child to know happiness is my greatest wish. Stop the fighting now please. And stop pillaging our children's innocence. Also stop the greed.

I started reading the Book of Mormon

And in the Introduction I spotted the first mistake. It invites all MEN to read it. As I am NOT a man I do not see any invitation to me.

I finished the Ballerina today

I didn't feel like getting up today. It was cold and we watched the Good morning show. Must try out the Lebanese Beans. Peter dragged me out for a walk and he was wonderful to two older women and helped them pick up leaves and later took a load to the dump for them.

I went to finish off my Ballerina and Nathan talked to me about the Church of the Latter day Saints. Most call them Mormons and it sounded very interesting that Joseph Smith is a latter day prophet. I have the book to read and intend to give it appraisal. It must be working for him because he is achieving what I can only dream about. He and his friend were working on a dragon for a Castle.

I gardened today and it was another beautiful day.

A fairly good day

The woman at golf were really lovely inspite of the fact that I'd cried at golf last week. I played better and won lotto and won the stableford to boot. I even did some gardening because it was such a beautiful day. But tonight I feel lousy again. I have such a fortunate life in many ways but my past haunts me. More pointedly that I received no justice and now don't trust the Justice System. There seems to be no closure for me. I have a psychologist appointment on Thursday but it comes twenty years to late. People get depressed for a reason and to just throw them some medication is so futile. Plenty of money for the drug companies but no real healing for the patient. I know I shouldn't moan and that I should be grateful but we must build a community that supports our citizens rather then alienates them. If we didn't expect so many of our citizens to survive below the breadline we would have less need for health services in the first place. I see that as the humane alternative because I'm sure that there would also be less crime.

Cannon Ball Breast

I was given a treasure today

I was given a treasure by Graham today. It was a little plaque with a little girl in a beautiful dress on it. She looked like an Alice in wonderland type character. I put it in my empty china cabinet for safe keeping but I will display it with pride when the time comes.

My psychiatrist ordered more Olanzepine

I arrived late at my psychiatric appointment but I did have enough time to tell him that I wished I was dead and in Heaven yesterday. He was stunned and I explained how I'm sulking because I get walked over. I think, and I think God thinks that you should treat me as an ope guru. That it is time that we all stopped despising the weak. 80-90% of us believe in God but when do we stop victimising the weak and meek in our society?I will tell the Justice System exactly how much they have let me down at some stage. And the psychiatric System also but in the meantime, before you come down on people that seem less able than you remember the parable of the good Samaritan. We have to check ourselves. My mother was also a very beautiful woman and it broke my heart to see her living such a dejected life because we show no respect to the frail. She lives hoping that she will see a better world and I want to see a better world as well. I also know that I have passed on that vulnerable gene and considering that both my mother and I were both brilliant youngsters I would like to know that our descendants inhabit a world with less hostility that enables people to flourish and not live in fear.

t's morning

It's morning and today I go to see my psychiatrist. I frustrate him because he thinks I should be happy having a cup of tea. With all the problems that the world faces it is difficult to be "happy" but my weekend was absolutely marvellous. I would love to die in a PEACEFUL world. That is my most significant dream. I did a painting called "Peace sign on the moon". A triptych that is at the Thames Art Society.

I was the School Fair Queen

Back in the days that I was truly beautiful and naive and innocent and no one had robbed me of any of my dreams.

I'm a cow girl and I've raced between the drums

I was pretty good for an amatuer. It was wonderful fun participating.

That is every reason to celebrate

Is it not?

Cannon Ball

Cannon Ball Cannon Ball Cannon Ball Cannon Ball. Peace be with you and you are all still alive. I am non violent but extremely frustrated in today's world. The rich take from the poor and we are medieval in our approach. The prestent system is Barbaric and we have to take action immediately......... Good luck John and Helen!

Oh dear!

Well here I am

Just one little woman on the other side of the Earth. Please Protect. Heroes we need more of but less Martyrs please.

Tonight I toast!

To Barack Obama and to Hilary working together to bring in the New Age. The one that we have always wished for. The reason that we send our children off to war. That we may not have to. To influencing PEACE in the Middle East. To feeding our Black children. Hunger is the purest form of suffering because of the inability for these children to fulfil their God given potential. As Christians are we to give or to take away? More of us need to ask ourselves that. I speak for the vulnerable and the mentally ill. Heaven's beautiful babies. I make my request politely but at the will of God. Nice to be His secretary!

My Babies

Well - my babies are in the Kiln. I admitted to just going along to play. I will never be a teacher or an expert but my ideas are worthy. I would love to do Art without the stress of worrying about where the money will come from. In fact. I would like to commission a good Sculptor to do a couple of my ideas.

One is called "Wrestling with the Serpent". It was actually a 150 year old eel. My partner of the time and I were trying to get the eel or "Serpent" off my sons arm. We succeeded but there are parallels - are there not - for all our lives. And I would wish to have died yesterday but whilst I'm still gasping for air = I will say very quietly - we must look out for all our children. The black women - the black babies and the red babies - and last, but not least - the white babies. God's gift to each and everyone of us. Sweet innocent children trusting that we will make a better world. Well I speak as a child now because I am wearied by life. Please can we Save all of them and not exert prejudice to save a few? If we do live in paradise then we must share Paradise with all our children? Oh to see all little girls grow up with trust and not fear. Warranted fear I have to add from what I have seen. I bear witness for the women and the children.

This is my "Cannon Ball Speech" and now I celebrate in madness.
Do we all not fear to die and not to have expressed our hopes for a better world. I would like to see Peace and I stand up and say................... HELP THE MEEK!

Cannon Ball Breast

I went along to Di Cast Glass thinking that I would do one breast. I suppose I'm still grieving for the fact that I had a mastectomy or something. It became "Cannon Ball Breast". I know that Tegretol caused the cancer by circumstantial evidence and they try to tell me that it was just bad luck. In fact, when I talked to one psychiatrist he sent me a copy of his Internet search that now says that Carbemazepine or Tegretol actually reduces the chance of breast cancer. It was so gobbledygook that I can only say that the medical profession lack as much common as me. I would really be interested to hear of any other people that suffered a bad reaction to Tegretol and seven or so years later got cancer.

Any way I had fun at the class and there was a lot of interesting people and each and every sculpture had it's own merits. I was always first finished because I function on the K.I.S.S principle these days because that is all I can cope with. Other people like to be complicated and intricate but I like to go to the essence, as it were, so it's all done in a minute.

Di had done some wonderful cheese muffins and we were treated like Kings and Queens.

Iris

Iris is the messanger of the Gods and the Goddess of the rainbow

We had a lovely evening out

I decided to be brave and go out for the evening and actually had a lovely time. The woman playing the violin was amazing and I even picked up Sandra's sketch pad and drew a tall dark and handsome singer. Unfortunately I lost an earing which is my usual trick but nevermind.

Today I took a cutting of a hydrangea

Today I took a cutting of a hydrangea. It is deep purple and beautiful and I don't care what the botanical name is - I'm going to call it "Meet me at Midnight" after at painting I did of it. It is a sumptuous name = is it not?

I've already come up with the name of the Gallery

I shall call it "The Kindreds". It is also the name of the Art Group I want to form. I can't think of anyone would would want to join it at the moment but that is what I'd like to call it. I do, however have a brilliant friend lined up that may exhibit one of his works here. His name is Graham and he lives and breathes Art. I think he is up there with Monet.

I have a dream

At the moment I'm stripping the wallpaper in the Pool room. I'm hoping to exhibit my work and other Artists from my home. I've decided I'd like to be an Art Collector and to sell work that I think is wonderful. At the Glass sculpting class I intend to try and do a single breast. Graham suggested that I entitle it "Keeping Abreast of the Times". He really made me laugh! I think it is a brilliant title for the work!

Today I cleaned a ceiling

Today I cleaned a ceiling. It was not exactly fun but it was cathartic. I went to the Art Society to get my clay sculpting tools and Kay told me a sad story about someone sending back her pottery all broken. It would have been so heartbreaking for her. How inconsiderate. Heather Stuart and her daughter Bronwyn are having an exhibition at the Paeroa Arts Society and their work is very good. Nobody has bought a painting yet but fingers crossed for them.

Pommegranate

Today I ate the seeds of the Pomegranate. They are delicious. And I also was privileged to see the works of Anthony Davies at the Waikato University. I enjoyed my lunch with the Etching Ladies.

Letter to John Key 1st wish list

Dear John

You will soon be at the top of our country and be the most powerful. As one of the weakest members of this society I put a proposal to you and here's hoping you read it. Short of having Asylums which gave some sort of protection to the mentally ill can we please have benefits that actually do recognise the C.P.I. And can we introduce work schemes that actually reward people for making an effort. I see the minimum wage as too low and the top earners as being too high. Most pointedly I see a need for actively employing the mentally ill so that they may feel part of the community. At the moment we offer work to the intellectually disabled and not the mentally disabled. To neglect these people and leave them with time on their hands is dangerous because people with time on their hands and no hope get into all sorts of trouble. When I did have work the work was a doddle but what I could not cope with was the hostility that still prevails in our society towards the mentally ill. I'm sick of taking pills to cope with this hostility and think that you should make a more user friendly environment for the mentally ill. I have spent most of my adult life training to get into the workforce and easily achieving every goal I set out to achieve but the only work I could get was part time on the minimum wage. Only an idiot could see the incentive. A lot of these "nutters" that our society is so hostile towards are actually extremely clever people trying to kid themselves that they have a reason to live when society shuns them. That teacher on T.V. is a glowing success story but few of us have significant support.

Anyway

God Bless

With you and Obama in office I'm really hoping that the 21st Century will be a better one for the meek.

Oh and can we have a Legal System that protects the weak and the meek as well!

Sincerely Iris

Smoking - Not our Future

As a closet smoker, and as one who is very ashamed of the fact that I am quietly killing myself with cigarettes I make the plea that we simply do not sell cigarettes and make them illegal within this country. If they weren't there to buy next to the milk and lollies in the Dairies then I would not buy them. I have battled with the addiction most of my adult life and see this as the simplest way to eradicate the harm that the habit causes. I suppose I should try to give up and be pure but I can't see why we sell them at all. I see that cigarettes take the firmest grip on the most vulnerable and most stressed in our community that can ill afford the expense so why make them available in the first place? Is it the revenue that makes continued selling attractive? If it is then that is so hypocritical.

Millicent Wyllie

Today I went to Millicent's home and it was picture perfect. A happy home with beautiful gardens and lots of wonderful Art. Some of her work was sheer magic and we even had some lovely baking. She is a ray of sunshine.
